The Studio Is Pretty Good

I don't often go for Apple TV's comedies. They are often a little too "high-brow," the kind of stuff your friend who goes to art showings and likes to discuss the latest fiction books I cruise on past to get to sci-fi calls, "highly-relevant and impactful," which to me just means boring, snooze-fest.

This isn't to say I don't enjoy relevant and impactful content - Silo and Severance are excellent examples, but I like my comedies to be a bit lighter.

But, Seth Rogen does a great job blending sharp satire with fast pacing and enough slapstick humor to keep you entertained with The Studio. It is all about a newly promoted studio head's antics at a large movie studio.

If the first episode and the ongoing, "Kool-Aid," gag in it doesn't, hook you, then don't continue. But, if like me, you like the sharp critique of the movie industry mixed with the humor of Rogen, then you'll probably find yourself looking forward to the release date every week.
