The Monkey - Hilarious, Disgusting, and Light on Plot
The Monkey is a movie that comes across as a one-punch line.

The Monkey follows an evil 1950s style monkey toy that causes people to die in horrific accidents. That is about the gist of the entire plot. There's minor twists and a barely legible plot thread, but that's what you are signing up for with the movie.
But, it's not the worst thing. The pacing is incredibly quick, the jokes land almost every-time, the kills are satisfying, and the movie has an impactful message around enjoying the moments life affords before they are gone. There's several scenes of brutal deaths coupled with humor that had everyone in the audience laughing, but I could not tell you the name of the protagonist or antagonist even while walking out of the theater. There's no growth or development.
Overall, It's a solid 3.5/5 star movie. Something worth watching, but not something I would watch again or remember well years from now.
