The Midwest Is Underrated
I recently moved to Ohio from Arizona. I've lived in Seattle, Portland, Coeur d'Alene, Yakima, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Cave Creek. Now, I live in Toledo, OH.
From the amount of flak I caught telling people I was moving out here, you would think I was moving into a war zone.
People told me...
my career would be nuked.
I would freeze to death.
I was insane
But, you know what - I like it, at least so far?
People are kind, the cost of living is reasonable, and there's stuff to do you wouldn't believe. Sure, maybe there isn't an artisan pizza and chicken wing place made my someone from New York, but the brewery food is great.
I may not be driving distance to Vegas, but I am excited to go to Kings Island.
Okay, sure there may not be articles on how we're the new tech capital, but people here work hard and build lives that are meaningful in their community instead of expanding McMansions to the sky and then complaining about the growth of the city.
It is a nice change of pace and I appreciate it.
Plus, you cannot sneeze without hitting amusement parks here.
