Revenge of the Sith Re-Run

I've been big into streaming in the last few years, much like everyone else. The convenience of it is appealing, the ability to hit pause, the comfort of my own home, the fact I can have whatever snacks I want, etc.

But, on Friday I saw Revenge of the Sith again in theaters. I came a bit early, expecting it to be busy.

It was packed. I live in a small suburb of a small town in the Midwest. The entire theater was almost full. Everyone had gathered to watch a movie that had meant so much to them or to share it with new people. 2005 kids brought their spouses or significant others. Adults in 2005 brought their kids. It was an amazing shared experience filled with applause and cheers at the end.

Movies are an experience and when that experience works I can forgive the crappy stadium seats, the prices, the snacks, etc. in favor of the joy of watching a movie that means something to people.
