Everything is a Nail, Python is My Hammer

One of the hardest things to overcome coming out of school for me was that my tools don't matter, my results do.

There's caveats to this around technical debt and being able to work with others, but I would put off projects and refuse to touch certain things because I didn't understand the tool or tech behind it and I felt I needed to, otherwise I wasn't making a positive contribution.

But, I know Python. I spent a lot of time doing data analysis, which meant I am pretty good with Python and SQL. At the end of the day, most problems can be beaten to death with these two tools.

Maybe I cannot scale to Netflix. Maybe that doesn't matter for most projects and tests to get new things to people quickly.

Maybe that's okay.
